Mayes County may be in for severe weather the next few days.
According to Mayes County Emergency Management Director Johnny Janzen, there is potential for significant flooding.
He said the storm that arrived Monday should end by Wednesday, and is expected to bring 7 inches of rain with the potential for up to 12 inches.
Janzen said there is a possiblity for severe weather with the system. He said the main concern would be golf-ball size hail and 80 mph winds. He said it does not appear the system will produce much in the way of tornadoes, but one or two in eastern Oklahoma is not out of the question.
