A Rural Economic Action Plan Grant resolution for the City of Strang was approved by Mayes County Commissioners Monday.
The grant is for $6,258 and will be used to construct a 10-foot by 14-foot building to house an emergency services generator as well as other emergency supplies, a new lawn mower, a new weedeater, 12 tables and 48 chairs for the city.
In other business, the commissioners:
• Tabled action concerning adopting a resolution approving the execution of a ground lease agreement between Independent School District No. 1 of Mayes County, (Pryor Public Schools) and the Mayes County Public Facilities Authority and a lease/purchase agreement between said authority and said school district; and containing other provisions relating thereto. The commissioners decided to have their attorney look over the documents before signing.
• Approved a resolution to dispose of equipment for the election board office.
• Approved a resolution to deposit funds to T-County Highway. Each district received $534.66.
• Approved transferring $1,215 from the tribal fund to the salary fund for the health department.
• Approved consideration of claims for payment.
• Approved requests for blanket purchase orders.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayes County Commission is 9:30 a.m., Aug. 13, in the Mayes County Courthouse.
