A proclamation declaring this week as Oklahoma Home Community Education Week was approved and signed by the Mayes County commissioners at the meeting Monday.
Members of the Home Community Educators group said once a year they dedicate a week to home community education. There are six clubs in Mayes County and each year members make a scholarship quilt which is sold to provide scholarships to two winners.
In other business, the commissioners:
• Approved the renewal of a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Service.
• Approved a resulution to junk an air impact wrench and a 500-gallon tank for District 3.
• Approved juvenile detention agreements.
• Approved road maintenance agreements.
• Approved considerations of claims for payment.
• Approved requests for blanket purchase orders.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayes County commissioners is 9:30 a.m., Monday, at the Mayes County Courthouse.
