A Locust Grove woman died Wednesday following a fatal wreck that claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman.
Melissa Mankiller, 52, died at 2:24 p.m., Aug. 25, from injuries sustained in the two-vehicle crash on Aug. 12. She was hospitalized at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Mankiller was the
driver of the 1981 Ford Mustang involved in the crash. Mankiller and four passengers were traveling south on Highway 82 when Ben Oldaker, 47, Spavinaw, turned left in front of their car.
Oldaker was attempting to pull into the drive of Sunset Mobile Home Park, which is located on a
hilltop.
Theresa Ann Brown, 23, Locust Grove, was the front seat passenger in the Mustang. She died of massive injuries after being flown to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. Her son Addison Bishop, 4, was in the back seat, along with Mankiller’s 14-year-old son Clinton and 2-year-old Brayden Sweeney.
Clinton Mankiller and Sweeney were treated and released Aug. 12, the day of the wreck. Bishop was hospitalized until the evening of Aug. 16, when he was released from St. Francis Hospital.
