Boys & Girls Clubs of Green Country has been selected as an official partner of Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids, an annual donation program with Payless ShoeSource.
“I can’t express how rewarding it has been for out staff to be a part of the ‘Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids’ program. Choosing who would receive the vouchers was difficult but through the generosity of Payless we were able to distribute merchandise certificates for shoes to the four club locations- Chouteau, Locust Grover, RG, Roosevelt, as well as our ‘Making Memories’ basketball program,” said Rose Craig, Chief Professional Officer.
“Going shopping with the children was equally as rewarding, some of the children tried on many pairs before choosing one, others spotted the pair they would be taking home right away. We would like to thank the employees at Claremore Payless Shoe Store, they were so attentive to the kids and spent time with them, measuring their feet and helping them with their choice of the right shoe.”
This is the fifth year of the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children’s health and development, a number of children don’t own a pair of shoes that fit. This program is working to remedy that in Oklahoma.
