RSU names 2012 Homecoming King and Queen

Rogers State University crowned a new King and Queen during Homecoming festivities Saturday, November 10 at the Claremore Expo Center.

Michael Blose and Natalie May were recognized as the new royalty. They were announced by RSU President Dr. Larry Rice and his wife, First Lady Peggy Rice during halftime of the Hillcats men’s basketball victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Blose, originally from Ripley, Okla., is a member of the Honors Program and has been named to the President’s and Dean’s honor rolls. He is involved with Race for the Cure, Relay for Life and RSU Hillcamp. He is a member of the Student Government Association, alumni of the Campus Activities Team and a founding member of the Pre-Professional Health Club.

May, from Bartlesville, was the first student from RSU’s Bartlesville campus to be nominated for Homecoming Queen. She is the president of Students for Social Responsibility, deputy speaker of the SGA House of Representatives and is the sole writing tutor at the Bartlesville campus. She has been named to the President's and Dean's honor rolls.

Other candidates for King were Christopher Bowles of Bartlesville and Dil Patel of Claremore. Other candidates for Queen were Melina Copeland of Claremore and Hannah Westlund of Owasso.
