A fatality collision occurred on Aug. 14 at approximately 10 p.m. oCounty Road NS 446.5 one quarter of a mile aouth of CountyRoad EW 370 approximately 30 feet east of Langley in Mayes County.
Matthew Johnston, 20, Ketchum, died at the scene from massive injuries.
Johnston’s 1994 Chevrolet pickup was southbound on NS 446.5 when it left the roadway to the right, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road and struck two trees.
Oklahoma State Highway Trooper Dusty Thornton’s report said an odor of alcohol was detected and the cause of the accident was unsafe speed.
Johnston was pinned in the vehicle approximately two hours.
Thornton, of the Mayes county detachment, was assisted by Trooper Colby Overstreet, Langley Police Department, Disney Police Department, Langley Fire Department and Strang Fire Department.
