Commissioners table sign bids

Mayes County commissioners opened bids on signs for the Mayes County Emergency Management grant at the meeting Monday. The “turn around, don’t drown” signs are to be placed in troublesome flood areas throughout Mayes County.

Bids came from Oklahoma Correctional Inustries, at $10,050 for 100 signs, Advances Workzone Services, at $5,850 for 100 signs, ROCAL Inc., at 25 signs for $996.75 and Custom Products Corporation, at $40.32 per sign.

The commissioners tabled the bids until the next meeting so more research could be done concerning the offiers.

In other business, the commissioners:

• Tabled the bid of $500 for a 1991 Ford F25 flat bed truck the Disney Fire Department is selling.

• Approved District 1 Circuit Engineering request form for used bridge beams. Commissioner Ryan Ball said the beams would be used for a 70-foot bridge south of Locust Grove.

• Approved the deposit of $9,154 to the T County Highway fund from District 1.

• Approved a resolution to junk a fax machine from the County Commissioners Office.

• Approved the transfer of $8,000 in the T County Highway fund; $6,000 went to District 1 and $2,000 went to Distrcit 3.

• Approved any considerations for claims of payment.

• Approved requests for blanket purchase orders.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayes County Commissioners is 9:30 a.m., May 30, at the Mayes County Courthouse.
