Filing open for county offices

Candidates for municipal office in six Mayes County municipalities may file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4.

Jill McCullah, Secretary of the Mayes County Election Board, said the filing period will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities:

Adair – One Trustee for a four-year term for Ward 2, One Trustee for a four-year term for Ward 4, and Town Clerk/Treasurer for a  four-year term.

Chouteau – Trustees for four-year terms for Wards 2 and 4, One Trustee for a two-year unexpired term in Ward 1, and Clerk/Treasurer for a four-year term

Langley – Two Trustees – all four-year terms; Clerk/Treasurer--four-year term.

Locust Grove – Two Trustees – for four-year terms, One Trustee for a two-year unexpired term, and Clerk/treasurer for a four-year term.

Salina –Three Trustees - four-year terms.

Spavinaw – Three Trustees - four-year terms; and one Trustee - two-year unexpired term.

The municipal offices at stake in all of these towns will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled for April 2. For questions regarding filing, please call the Election Board Office at (918) 825-1826.
