Northeast Technology Center’s Pryor Campus will be hosting a 911 dispatching class during the month of June.
The course is titled “Public Safety Telecommunicator” and is an APCO Certified Training Course. The course will help those who attend learn to be a 911 dispatcher.
The class will be held June 4-27, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The class will be held at NTC’s Pryor campus, six miles west of Pryor on Highway 20.
Cost for the class is $309.
The course may be used for new-hire and existing employee training. This course blends the knowledge and skill building information needed for a basic telecommunicator with the most up-to-date information on the technology and issues in public safety communications centers.
Topics covered in the class include: Introduction to Your New Career; Interpersonal Communications; Telephone Communications Techniques; Traditional Technology; Emerging Technology; Computer Aided Dispatch and Related Technologies; Radio Communication Techniques; Radio Technology; Call Classification; NIMS Incident Command System; Liability Issues, and Preparing for Your New Career.
