Phillips 66 Pipeline LLC will be laying a third pipeline through Mayes County this summer.
Representatives of Phillips 66 told Mayes County commissioners at their meeting Monday that two 10-inch pipes running through Mayes County were laid in the 1930s and the new line will tie into the old refined products line as an update.
They told commissioners there will be a total of 34 miles laid, starting in June, and 22 miles will be in Mayes County starting about two miles south of Highway 20. The job should be complete by late October to early November.
There were a total of 31 utility crossings in the permit. Representatives said the pipes will be bored 48 inches below the ditches.
Commissioners asked that the company reimburse the county for materials for any damages sustained to the roads during construction and that the ditches be returned to their condition before construction.
The permits were approved.
In other business, the commissioners:
• Approved a cremation permit for an indigent person.
• Approved road maintenance agreements for Strang, Chouteau, Paradise View and Langley.
• Approved a resolution to declare surplus of a chip spreader and offer it for sale by sealed bid from District 3. District 3 has purchased a new chip spreader.
• Approved consideration of claims of payment.
• Approved a request for blanket purchase orders.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayes County Commission will be 9:30 a.m. June 4 at the Mayes County Courthouse.
