The Pryor School Board meeting was June 28. The board approved the minutes from the June 4 meeting, along with encumbrances.
The elementary and secondary handbooks for the 2012/2013 school year were approved.
Some obsolete computer equipment was declared surplus.
Norma Ledbetter was appointed treasurer for the 2012/2013 school year.
A contract with Pryor Schools and the Northeast Technology Center was approved. This is for school buses to take students from the Pryor Schools to NTC.
The resignations of Lincoln Elementary fourth-grade teacher Bonnie Vaughn, junior high history teacher and coach Tony Vaughn and junior high secretary Cheryl Adams were accepted.
The following were hired by the board for the 2012/2013 school year:
Rene Branstetter as the special education teacher at Lincoln Elementary School
Mary Hughes as first-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School
Jane Mason as kindergarten teacher at Jefferson Elementary School
Lynn Unruh as sixth-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School
Steve Barth as business teacher and coach for the junior high and high school
Sarah Clemmens as high school choir teacher.
The board approved two curriculum coaches, Tallery Raglin and Gentry Pierce, as part of the state department of education REAC3H Program.
Nellie Maddox was hired as the cook for the junior high.
Russanna Hudson was hired as a cook for Lincoln Elementary School.
Shellee Engles was hired as the secretary for the junior high.
The board approved drug and alcohol testing for bus drivers.
A resolution was adopted to hire school district counsel, financial advisor and bond counsel pertaining to financing and authorizing school district officials to execute necessary documents in connection with the aforementioned transactions. This is for the execution of school bonds which have been approved.
The board moved $500 from the Now (interesting bearing) account to the refreshment account for meetings.
