The first Cherokee Tri-Council meeting of the Cherokee Nation, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians will convene on July 13 in Cherokee, N.C., and a contest to determine the logo commemorating the historic meeting is being held for citizens of the three tribes.
Logo entries should reflect the meeting’s theme, “Completing the Circle of Fire.” Artists must submit their entries by April 13, at 4:30 p.m. Judges representing each of the federally recognized Cherokee tribes will select the Tri-Council logo. The winner will receive a cash award of $1,000.
Contestants must be citizens of the Cherokee Nation, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians or the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians and be at least 18 years of age. A copy of the artist’s tribal citizenship card and a photo identification must be submitted with each entry.
