KAMO Power has agreed to help resurface Quail Ridge Drive after gravel trucks damaged the road.
Darrell Yoder, county commissioner for District 2, said KAMO Power is building a new substation near Low Water Dam. KAMO is a 17-member distribution cooperative serving northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri.
Yoder said trucks from Pryor Stone have been hauling in the rock for the new substation. The substation will be located almost due east of the Chouteau Power Plant.
The heavy gravel trucks are damaging the road, and KAMO agreed last Friday to help fund repairs. Yoder said KAMO came to an agreement with the county to share the costs for blacktop.
The power company will pay $153,000 toward resurfacing Quail Ridge Drive.
