Pryor MUB purchases new truck

Pryor Municipal Utility Board is purchasing a new truck.

The board approved buying a 2010 Chevrolet three-

quarter ton extended cab 4x4 truck in a February meeting. The vehicle will be purchased through the state central purchasing contract for $24,423.

MUB promoted David Allison from a D-mechanic to a C-mechanic, effective

Feb. 18. Allison’s pay will be bumped from $16.81 an hour to $17.42.

MUB’s electric crew replaced a blower motor at the Southeast 9th lift station. The crew also pulled a bad pump out of the B&H; lift station. Repairs were made to a C.T. meter loop at the Sears store on North Mill. The crew repaired an underground street light wire at 1013 Colonial Drive and loaded another dumpster full of old poles.

The electric crew changed out arms on the south feeder on South Taylor. Employees also worked on the lights at the treatment plant. They changed out six 55-watt fixtures and replaced them with 250-watt.

No further progress has been made on the water line replacement on North Coo-Y-Yah. Water crews are replacing a 4-inch cast iron water line with 6-inch PVC from Graham Avenue to Northeast 4th.

The water workers are hoping to start working this week on a line replacement on South Veyda. The project involves replacing 2-inch steel water line with 8-inch PVC, as well as fire plugs.

Crews have been working in the Summerfield Addition making water taps.

Jim Armontrout performed inspections on Southeast 2nd Street behind the park pond. Contractors have completed moving the 6-inch water line and are now working on the 14-inch sewer replacement.

After jet-rodding the sewer mains and using the sewer camera, water and sewer crews discovered several taps in need of replacement in the 300 block of North Sawyer.

A new sewer tap was made at 150 S. Oklahoma and a replacement tap was made at 425 N. Oklahoma.

The gas crews are replacing a 2-inch gas service line to Pryor High School. Workers are replacing approximately 800 feet of line because of the construction at the school. The project should be completed this week.

The gas crews are replacing a 2-inch gas line between Locke Street and Harris Street from Park to Southeast 2nd Street. The new line will extend one block on Southeast 2nd as well. The main and services have been installed in the alley and on Southeast 2nd.

Two new gas taps were made at 1505 S. Oklahoma and 2762 Summerfield Place.
