Commissioners approve floodplain permit for TDS

A floodplain permit to run communication equipment under East and West 390 roads as well as under Osage Creek was approved by the Mayes County commissioners at the meeting Monday.

Commissioners said TDS Telecom is doing the work and running the equipment.

In other business, the commissioners:

• Approved surplussing two Mayes County Sheriff’s pickup trucks so a decision on how to dispose of them could be made. The newer truck may be traded in or both may go to auction.

• Approved the six-month bridge inspection reports.

• Approved road number, 4382 Road.

• Mayes County Sheriff Frank Cantey announced he named Albert McKee as Mayes County Undersheriff.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayes County Commission is at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Mayes County Courthouse.
