The Adair Alumni Association hosted its annual all school reunion June 24 at Adair school cafeteria with a pot luck lunch. One hundred twenty-two alumni and guests attended the reunion.
Don Miller from the class of 1958 led the group in the National Anthem, then gave the blessing for the meal.
Steve Hall acted as master of ceremonies and presided over the meeting.
Alumni donations collected outside of expenses are used to donate a current year graduate with a scholarship, this year Israel Price was the reciepient of $500 to be used towards his education.
The floor was opened to elect new officers with no replacements made. Current officers and board members are: Pat Eby, president, Donna Harrison, vice-president, Barbara Rice, secretary, Mary Faye Webb, treasurer, Bill Propp and Norma Price as board members.
Others helping with the reunion were Glenda Carter and Mary Ethel Propp at the registration table, Brenda Midgley and Shirley Peper helping with the serving table, clean-up and contributing to the decorations of tables.
Former president and his wife Charles and Carol Davis were recognized for their time served helping with the past reunions for several years.
Norma Price read the names of graduates who passed away in the preceding year.
Richard Lawson traveled the farthest for the reunion from Herndon, Va.; he was given a token of gratitude. The youngest graduate present was Niecce’ McAnally. Geneva Eby was recognized for being the oldest graduate present from class of 1935 and Maxine Cason was present from the class of 1939.
The classes from 1940 thru 1945 had seven members in attendance, those present were John Boston, Emilee (Davis) James, Lloyd Sumner, Felix Kay, Jean (Mitchell) Rhodes, Charles Curts and Lowery Rhodes. They each received a small gift, the lucky winner of the beautiful table centerpiece from their table was Jean Rhodes. There were several spouses and graduates in attendance joining them from years 1946 thru 1949.
Each member of the 1962 class gave a brief history of their family and activities since leaving Adair High School. Those present were: Carl Osborn, Louise (Gay) Osborn, Alan McAnally, Richard Lawson and Neppie (Lewis) Wallis. Linda (Ragsdale) Jaggars and Betty (Breazeale) Ledbetter who spent many years with this class joined the others at the honorary table. Each graduate and members present was given a key chain of remembrance. Carl Osborn received the table centerpiece.
Graduates from the 1958 and 1963 years had the same number as the 1962 class in attendance and were given a key chain.
Teachers present and recognized were presented roses with the men receiving candy. Attending were: Mary Etta Beaver, Sharron Gay, Kenneth and Brenda Brixey and Mozelle Stockton.
