Pryor experiences general fund decrease

ADAIR — The Pryor City Budget and Personnel committee discussed the mid-year review for the city’s finances at its meeting last week.

The committee was told the general fund has experienced a decrease of $119,850 for the first six months of the fiscal year. Only five payments of $46,000 were received from the municipal utility board, the total insurance for the year was paid, other outsource programs were paid for the entire year and there was a decrease in sales tax.

The committee was told because it will be receiving seven payments from MUB and an increase in sales tax for the holiday season, it is expected the general fund should be back to normal in the second half of the year.

Sales tax is up 9.9 percent compared to the same six months last year.
