The Bluestar Mother’s of Mayes County are accepting donations for Christmas. They will have two booths set up on the Pryor Christmas Parade Route. The booths will be located in front of Ivan’s Jewelry and The Village Shop.
“We send supplies, stockings and a gift box to all our soliders,” said Pam Buffington of Bluestar Mothers.
These care packages are going to be mailed the week of Dec. 10.
“We also like to send Christmas trees when we have a few soldiers together,” said Buffington.
They are accepting cash donations, food, stocking stuffers and toiletries.
“Basically anything you would buy for yourself this time of year, we can include in the care package,” said Buffington.
Pryor’s Christmas Parade is Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7p.m.

Slate: Why does everything taste like chicken?
At least once a week, someone tells me that some food other than chicken "tastes like chicken." People throw the analogy around constantly. Virtually any meat that is pale in color, firm in texture, and lacking a strong flavor is subjected to the chicken comparison.
