LOCUST GROVE —
The Locust Grove Board of Education voted not to take disciplinary action on or against head football coach Matt Hennesy at a special meeting Monday at the Upper Elementary School.
The meeting was called days after an alleged hazing incident during a weight lifting class.
More than 200 citizens were in attendance and gave emotional statements both for and against disciplinary action.
The board listened to each opinion based upon rumors and refused to release any facts obtained before the meeting.
The board did, however, reprimand any speaker who referenced subjects with possible legal action.
After nearly three hours of deliberation, the board cited a lack of evidence of Hennesy violating an "extra duty contract" for its decision.
Hennesy faces no further examination by the school district.
