EBENSBURG, Pa. — Two women were arrested Thursday for rummaging through rural mailboxes for Christmas letters and cards and driving off with cash and gift cards.
Police Chief Mark Westrick of Cambria Township said the mailbox bandits, who were not identified, were observed by an alert citizen who notified police.
He said the thievery started about a week ago, and involved cards and letters being sent as well as those received.
U.S. Postal Service investigators are assisting local police in the case.
