FSA announces committee election results

PRYOR — The Farm Service Agency county committee election for 2012 was held Dec. 3 and ballots were counted Dec. 6 according to Brian Hisey, County Executive Director.   Farmers and other eligible voters in LAA #3 elected the following to the county committee for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1:

County Committee (COC) Member – Stanley Covey

1st Alternate to COC – Kendall Packard

2nd Alternate to COC – William C. Simpson    

Stanley Covey will serve on the Mayes County FSA Committee with incumbent members, Jonathan Scheffel - (LAA #2) & Randy Drake - (LAA#1). Stanley Covey operates a dairy and hay enterprise in the Rose area.  The Mayes County FSA Committee meetings are scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month @ 10 a.m.

The county committee is responsible for developing and setting local policy for USDA farm programs including conservation and disaster programs.  The county committee is also responsible for hearing appeals and requests for reconsideration.  Additional information is available through the Wagoner County FSA Office, 26112 State Hwy 51, Wagoner, OK  74467 or by calling (918) 485-4747.
