A total of 3,194 head sold Oct. 1, compared to 4,352 last week and 2,749 a year ago. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers not well tested, but a lower undertone noted. Steer and heifer calves sold steady to $3 lower. Calves from 300-375 lbs. sold $3 to $10 lower. Slaughter cows sold steady to $2 higher.
