— The Tulsa State Fair Ringmasters have awarded a $1,500 scholarship to Tucker Malotte of the Adair FFA. Ringmasters say she has exhibited character, a good work ethic and has been involved in her community.

The number of applications was at an all-time high of 96. Applicants are evaluated by the scholarship committee. The criteria for selecting recipients includes involvement in extracurricular activities associated with high school and community participation, economic need, participation in the Tulsa State Fair Junior Livestock Shows and a short essay outlining long-term educational goals. Out of 96 applications, 30 scholarships in the amount of $1,500  were awarded.

The Ringmasters are composed of a citizen volunteer group from the Tulsa area. They dedicate time and effort each year to raise funds to support Oklahoma’s 4-H and FFA youth through the Tulsa State Fair Junior Livestock Auction, and to help raise funds for the continued growth of the Tulsa State Fair Junior Livestock Scholarship Fund. The fund was established in 2001, when the first and only scholarship awarded was $500.
