A new livestock auction opens today in Checotah. The sales begin at 11 a.m. each Tuesday.
This is the first new livestock auction to be built in Oklahoma in 21 years. The sale barn burned in Muskogee and the sale has not been re-established there.
The new covered sale barn is in Checotah, right off U.S. 69, two miles north of Interstate 40. Take the Checotah/Rentiesville exit then go north one quarter mile.
Cattle may be received the day before the sale or longer if arrangements are made. The facility will sell cattle only and can provide hauling. For more information call (918) 473-0028.
