A total of 3,911 head sold Oct. 22, compared to 3,297 last week and 4,029 a year ago. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold steady in a light test. Steer calves sold mostly steady to $4 lower. Heifer calves sold mostly steady to $4 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $2 to $3 lower.
